NDIS Community Nursing Care
Find a list of NDIS Community Nursing Care . There are currently some Community Nursing Care providers offering a range of services.
Some NDIS participants have disabilities that require assistance from specialists. As their needs are more complex than most, they require a higher level of care. And that care requires higher levels of skill from the care provider. The Community Nursing Care registration group includes funding for high level specialist care, as well as for the training of care providers to ensure that they are fully qualified to deliver complex supports.
The NDIS recently expanded the nursing supports that it covers. So, in addition to services that the NDIS considers to be “capacity building” (i.e. they help the participant develop skills and build independence), participants are able to access funding for the following health services:
- Catheter changes and cleaning
- Wound care support and dressings
- Development of care plans and swallowing therapy for people with dysphagia
- Respiratory supports including tracheostomy equipment and management, CPAP and BiPAP equipment, ventilators and more
