NDIS Group and Centre Based Activities
Find a list of NDIS Group and Centre Based Activities . There are currently some Group and Centre Based Activities providers offering a range of services.
Here support is designed to assist and encourage participants to join in community, social and recreational activities with a group. The goal is to foster an inclusive and stimulating environment in which participants are free to meet new people, make new friends, participate in activities, and learn new skills, all while socialising and having fun.
A broad range group-based activities and programs are available to participants, including:
- Arts and crafts
- Music
- Sport
- Dance
- Board games
- Trivia
- Disco
- Cooking
- Tours
- Travel
Group/Centre Activities also help participants develop critical skills like handling money, planning and organising activities, using computers, and resume building.
For NDIS participants seeking adventure, organisations offer a variety of activities like water skiing, bowling, camping, sailing, and scuba diving. Such activities encourage participants to work together and helps them learn the importance of teamwork. They also provide a great opportunity for participants to meet new people and build lasting relationships with like-minded people.
Higher intensity activities like those listed above are balanced by group outings to cinemas, theatres, art galleries, museums, markets, music concerts and festivals. There are also relaxation activities like yoga, meditation, and trips to spas and wineries.
Supports are also available to groups that wish to travel, whether for a few days or several months. They will be assisted before the trip—with things like organisation, accommodation, insurance, itinerary—as well as during the trip.
