Edna died on Friday 9 December 2021 following a long struggle with cancer. She was a complex trauma counsellor who worked for over 25 years with refugees, sexual assault survivors, and many other children and adults. Edna has worked as a counsellor for almost thirty years. Including 14 years at the Victorian Foundation for the Survivors of Torture and Trauma followed by a stint at the Red Cross providing supervision for 16 other councillors. She has worked in management and as a caseworker at two sexual assault centres over a fifteen year period. She combined work for the General Practitioner’s Association in Geelong with her private practice for some years and now works solely in private practice. She works with adults of all ages and has a particular interest in complex trauma. Edna is fluent in English, Swedish, Spanish and Hebrew and has a working knowledge with Italian and German. She has a multi-cultural background living and working in three different countries and cultures, has worked with interpreters for many years and is widely travelled.
